How We Work

The Donald P. and Katherine B. Loker Foundation supports organizations that primarily benefit educational, medical, and environmental causes located in California and New England. The Foundation achieves its goals by allocating resources to initiatives that align with this mission. What does a proposal include?

The Foundation responds to proposals that include a clearly defined plan, timeline, and budget. The request should effectively identify the addressable problem as well as communicate the proposal’s desired benefits or community impact.

What is the size of a contribution?

The Foundation makes contributions across a wide range. If your request is above six figures, we recommend including a fundraising plan, which consists of additional funding from other foundations, local partners, or traditional donors.

How long is the review process?

The Foundation aims to make a funding decision within 90 days after receiving a complete proposal. If your submission aligns with our priorities, a site visit or follow-up communication from the Board of Directors may be appropriate.
